Specific Profile of Crohn’s Disease

Biblical Insights into the Specific Profile of Crohn’s Disease and Its Possible Spiritual Roots

(A 3 Minute Read)

At Be in Health we have invested many years of research, ministry experience, and Biblical study into learning and understanding the spiritual roots of disease. We have seen tens of thousands of people healed from every manner of disease including autoimmune diseases. Today we want to discuss the specific profile of Crohn’s Disease. We will give you biblical insights into what is going on in your body to create this disease and how to defeat it in your life today.

As believers, it’s important for us to be able to discern the motives of our heart. We may have good intentions and be doing something that seems right, but we need to be able to identify what spirit is driving it. Is it God’s Spirit or is it the enemy?

Crohn’s disease is an example of a disease that is a fruit of the enemy’s counterfeit way of thinking. Physiologically, the immune system targets and attacks the intestine as the enemy rather than the harmful, invading microbes. It will eat away at the lining of the intestine taking ‘bites’ out of it and causing injury, ulceration, and bleeding.

A person with Crohn’s disease might find themselves trying to help everyone else and keep everyone else happy. They’ve engaged in a precarious juggling game because they have taken on a responsibility that is not theirs. They may find that no matter what they do, they can’t help everyone pull it together and they may internalize it and take it personally as if it was their own failure or their own fault that these people are unhappy.

They may feel like they have to do everything right in order to keep others happy. There is no room for their own failure, weakness, humanness or anything of the sort. They may find themselves driven by fear and guilt. They may have expectations for themselves of perfection and performance. When they beat themselves up or are hard on themselves with these unrealistic expectations, over time, their body may respond accordingly and begin to target itself as the enemy, in this case, the lining of the intestines.

Here’s the truth from the Word. Not even God has these expectations for us. Psalm 103 says that He knows our frame, He remembers that we are dust. He is slow to anger and plenteous in mercy towards us.

The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy. Psalm 103:8 KJV

Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him. For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust. Psalm 103:13-14 KJV

Each person is responsible for their own peace, happiness, and spirituality. When we accept our position as sons and daughters of God we are able to love and accept ourselves as we are. When we are able to recognize that our loved ones and those around us are beloved members of God’s creation too, we can release them to God and let His Holy Spirit do the work that He needs to in their hearts. We can then shed that burden for everyone else’s wellbeing off of our shoulders.

We are still called to love others and to be kind and gentle to one another but it needs to be as a fruit of the Holy Spirit that is in us. We need to be filled up with God’s love in relationship and fellowship with Him. As we begin to understand His Word and search out His heart, we will have an abundance that will flow out through us according to the right Spirit, the Holy Spirit.

There is also a retraining of familiar thought patterns that is necessary; casting off the old ways of thinking. When we’ve been following a certain pattern of thought or behavior for so long, there is a process of renewing our minds to line up with how God thinks. We can start by getting into His Word and really seeking to know and understand God and His ways better. It is also helpful to establish His goodness and faithfulness in our lives through thanksgiving, praise, and worship so we can continually set a standard of who really is in charge in our lives and in the lives of our loved ones.

This is what needs to be established in the heart of a person who is overcoming Crohn’s disease: You are accepted and acceptable just the way you are. You don’t need to prove it through good works or performance. You are good enough. You are treasured and you are valuable to your Heavenly Father, not because of what you do, but because of who you are in Him. Finally, it is not your responsibility to fix anyone else or to be their source of peace, love, and joy. God’s Holy Spirit needs to be that source for them. So you can lead them to your Heavenly Father and represent His heart to them in Word and in truth, but it’s up to them whether they will reach out to Him and receive from Him or not.

When we were born again, we were accepted in the beloved, unconditionally. When we receive this for our hearts and allow our identity to be reformed in this truth, we can begin to look outward instead of inward. We can begin to see ourselves and others from God’s perspective, we can find hope and peace and security where there was none before; not because anyone else has changed or is happy or sad, but because we have lined ourselves up with our Heavenly Father. And when we are in alignment with Father God and His nature in us, our bodies will respond accordingly and reset to factory default settings, to function perfectly the way that God intended it to from the time that we were created.

Blessings,
