I want to ask everyone a question. Do you really hate sin? Now, for believers, the first answer is, of course, “I hate sin.”
Now, some of you may know that you do not hate sin the way you need to. There is not one person who can say, “yes, I totally hate sin,” because you are still entangled with the sin within. You cannot say you totally hate it because the enemy will come to accuse and condemn you and tell you that you really do like sin.
So what should the answer be for an overcomer?
“I want to. I want to hate sin. Father, do whatever it takes in my heart to hate sin, like Your Son hated sin.” With that answer, the enemy cannot accuse you, saying you haven’t arrived. You can’t even accuse yourself anymore, because the statement is not just about your past, but takes you into the future.
I want you to ponder that question and with your own heart, go before the Father. Trust me. If you can answer Him honestly and say, “I want to hate sin,” then He is going to show you personally, how you can overcome and how you can truly hate sin according to the Word.
[tweet_box]Everyone is different. The way He shows me is not going to be the way He shows you. Let your answer truly be from your heart. Be excited and be challenged at what He will show you.[/tweet_box]I was before the Lord recently, and I really believe this is from Him because it set me in such a cool, but very painful, place.
Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. Matthew 10:16
Here is the thing that overthrows what the enemy does. You must understand that Satan is a master deceiver. He is the legalist if all legalist. He is the king of a kingdom that only goes by deception, lies, cheating, and all things evil. The enemy is such a deceiver that he accuses us all the day long so that we get caught up in what we think is right and wrong, even when the Word is plain before us.
Being a man or woman after God’s own heart is simply this – it is not that you are sinless – it is that you have a hatred for sin. Maybe you do not know how to have a absolute perfect hatred for sin, but you want to.
Jesus said in John 14:15, “If ye love me, keep my commandments.” We want to be known as men and women after God’s own heart. All those accusing spirits of self-hatred and self-rejection must to recognized and have to go. They are interfering with your prosperity, your health, and your sanity.
It is time to grow up, Church.
To grow up, you must become like a child because, unless you become like a child, you cannot even see the kingdom of God. So put away your intellectualism and you degrees, and submit your hearts to God in simple faith as a child would trust his/her father. He is a great Father. He is the Father of all spirits. He is the great God of all flesh. He has created you for his purposes, saved you, redeemed you by the blood of Jesus at the cross, pledged you as sons and daughters, and betrothed you to His Son forever. If you want to hate sin and be free of its bondage, He will show YOU how. He will not do it for you. It is a choice.
So, I ask again: “Do you really hate sin?”
