What is Spirit World Realities?

One of Dr. Henry W. Wright’s most foundational teachings examined the subject of what is Spirit World Realities? His teaching exposed the enemy’s kingdom with the light of the Word of God and gave insight into the inner workings of the spirit world so that people could better understand the spiritual battleground from a Biblical perspective. It also exposed an invisible kingdom that needs us in order to manifest itself. The following is an excerpt from his teaching. Discerning of Spirits

Spirit World Realities is a very interesting subject that will help you understand the invisible spirit world around you. In the 12^th chapter of 1 Corinthians, discerning of spirits is one of the nine gifts of the Holy Spirit.

To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: 1 Corinthians 12:10 KJV

What good would it do to have discerning of spirits and not do anything about it? This is called Spirit World Realities, which is understanding the invisible part of creation.

Spirit Beings

First of all, you are a spirit being. You don’t see your human spirit. You don’t see it, but you’re there. God is a Spirit. If God were not a Spirit, or if you were not a spirit, then God could not be your Father because the Bible says He is the Father of all spirits.

Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live? Hebrews 12:9 KJV

God is not the Father of animals. He created animals for our benefit and they are non-eternal. Every being from the time that God created beings have been spirit beings. A spirit being has a spirit body. You can’t see it because it’s a different composition than you [physically]. That’s how men have entertained angels unawares. Angels have appeared as if they were men. Remember reading that in the Bible?

Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares. Hebrews 13:2 KJV

Angles would appear and walk amongst men and you couldn’t recognize them or tell the difference between them and men.

Ages in Scripture

The Scriptures teach there are three ages: 1) the age that was, ruled by angels; 2) the age that is; and 3) the age to come—which is world without end. The world without end begins with the creation of the New Heaven and the New Earth.

And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. Revelation 21:1 KJV

In Spirit World Realities, we’re going to see the interaction of invisible beings and how they affect our lives. Have you ever wondered where evil spirits come from? Were they always bad? Did God create beings that were evil and has He now released them as a horde to torment us? There are a lot of questions about this. If you’re going to be discerning spirits, how can you discern something you can’t see? You’re going to discern them by what God has revealed in Scripture and what Jesus showed us when He dealt with invisible beings that existed in His time. They could actually speak through people’s vocal cords.

Do we read those Scriptures and avoid them because we’re afraid of them? Maybe we think that something is speaking through our vocal cords and we don’t want anybody to know it. Maybe they already are speaking through your vocal cords and everybody around you knows it. When you open your mouth, what comes out of your mouth may or may not be from the throne room of God.

What We Know About Satan

There seems to be evidence that creation was once ruled by—the King James Bible refers to him as—Lucifer. I went back to some of the Hebrew manuscript evidence from my library. I began to look at what is called “Lucifer” or the morning star. I went back and looked up the word. I have taken the position that all of the old age once ruled by angels was under the authority of Lucifer (“Heylel” in the Hebrew).

How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! Isaiah 14:12 KJV

Isaiah chapter 13 verse 12 says, “How have you fallen from heaven, oh Heylel.” Well, that’s right in the area of “heylelling.” If you know anything about the Jewish Scriptures, when David was dancing before the Ark of the Covenant and his wife was a little bit ashamed of him, he was “heylelling.” “Heylelling” is dancing with wild abandonment before God in happiness and joy and it includes wild dancing. “Heylelling” has to do with worship. It has to do with radiance and beauty.

We’ll talk about Satan before he was known as Satan. In some of the newer translations, the word Lucifer has been removed and he is called Morning Star. The word “Lucifer” is not found in Hebrew manuscript evidence, but the word “Heylel” is. If it is capitalized, it indicates some type of being who said he would exalt himself above the stars, above God Himself.

The Spirit World of Ephesians 6

We want to talk about the head of the ‘body of sin’ that Paul referred to. This is in one Hebrew manuscript that I have. In another one it says this being was apparently in charge of some type of creation. We know that the old age which was before the Ice Age, was ruled by angels. There is enough information that indicates it was angels who rebelled first against God. One-third of these angels listened to Lucifer. Whether you call him “Lucifer” or you call him “Heylel” as in the Hebrew, we see some type of being decided he wanted to exalt himself about the throne of the living God.

I want to take you on a journey and show you what happened before the Ice Age. The kingdom referred to in Ephesians chapter 6, including principalities and powers, spiritual wickedness in high places and the rulers of darkness of this world, including Satan himself, did not have their beginning with Adam. They weren’t crated in the morning and then tempted Even through the serpent by noontime.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Ephesians 6:12 KJV

Scripture and Science Agree

Jeremiah chapter 4 will show you that Satan’s kingdom was here on the earth before the Ice Age. I’m sure you’ve heard different teachings than these and I’m sure that what I teach you maybe or may not agree with. I am going to teach it the way I see it from Scripture and science. I do not believe the earth was literally created just 6,000 years ago. That’s a far stretch when you look at geology and when you look at the receding glaciers that we have. I can gave you all kinds of examples about geology and things like the Eastern Sierras and Niagara Falls. A lot or things prove that at one time this land was covered by ice.

Science is not at variance with the Word of God. As long as it’s a proper scientific investigation of an evaluation of what we see in creation, even from nuclear to the electronic, the protons and neutrons and all that we can see with electron microscopes, and everything that we can see, science should not be at variance with Scripture at all. You have to be careful that sometimes science is based, not on true faith found in Scripture, but on a hypothesis or a premise. They don’t want us to have faith, but science has a faith that’s greater than I have because they’re coming to conclusions based on speculation and hypotheses.

The World Before Adam

When I get into the discussion about the world before Adam, you will find in those days this planet was inhabited by some type of beings. They lived in cities, they farmed and they died in their sins. Jeremiah chapter 4 says, in that day the earth no longer had the knowledge of good in it. There was no longer one being who cared about God and when that spark of eternal life in creation was dead, God destroyed it all.

¹⁹My bowels, my bowels! I am pained at my very heart; my heart maketh a noise in me; I cannot hold my peace, because thou hast heard, O my soul, the sound of the trumpet, the alarm of war. ²⁰Destruction upon destruction is cried; for the whole land is spoiled: suddenly are my tents spoiled, and my curtains in a moment. ²¹How long shall I see the standard, and hear the sound of the trumpet? ²²For my people is foolish, they have not known me; they are sottish children, and they have none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge. ²³I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light. ²⁴I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills moved lightly. ²⁵I beheld, and, lo, there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled. ²⁶I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the Lord, and by his fierce anger. ²⁷For thus hath the Lord said, The whole land shall be desolate; yet will I not make a full end. ²⁸For this shall the earth mourn, and the heavens above be black; because I have spoken it, I have purposed it, and will not repent, neither will I turn back from it. ²⁹The whole city shall flee for the noise of the horsemen and bowmen; they shall go into thickets, and climb up upon the rocks: every city shall be forsaken, and not a man dwell therein. An Invisible Spirit World

These are things found in the Bible. You may remember most of them. If we’re going to have an understanding of Spirit World Realities, then we must see Satan’s kingdom like God sees it. He can see it like He sees you and me with our physical eyesight. We can’t see that invisible spirit world, but God wants you to understand it and discern it by how it manifests. Jesus showed us how that was a long time ago.
