Can Hodgkin’s Lymphoma be completely cured? At Be in Health®, we say a resounding, “YES!” and Jennifer would agree. She shared with us this inspiring testimony of how she was completely cured of Hodgkin’s Lymphoma by applying the Biblical principles that we teach at the For My Life® Retreat.
Jennifer’s Testimony:
I was first introduced to Be in Health by a lifelong, family friend. She gave us Dr. Henry Wright’s book, A More Excellent Way, but I just let it sit on my shelf for a while and did not open it.
God was trying to get my attention. I loved Him all of my life, but I was also rebellious. I wanted everything good that God had for me, and I also wanted everything the world had. Finally, I sat down with the book; I knew I was supposed to pick it up and read it. It spoke to everything that I knew wasn’t right between my Heavenly Father and me.
A massive lump
There was a massive lump on my neck, but I was a very natural person, so I didn’t run to a doctor. I did natural things and God things, even fasting and prayer. I would see it shrink, but it wouldn’t go away.
Finally, in 2007, I was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. My dad said to me, “I’ll do anything you think you need.” So I laid the A More Excellent Way book in front of him and said that I wanted to go to Be in Health.
Getting help
Attending For My Life was transformational for me. A huge thing for me was understanding Father God’s love. The significant spiritual root issue that I was dealing with was separation and abandonment from a father figure. That was going on in a couple of areas of my life. What I didn’t realize was that I had replaced who my Heavenly Father was with these earthly examples that couldn’t represent His nature to me. I started a process of learning to trust God at a whole new level.
Coming out of the For My Life Retreat, I knew that I had the tools that I needed to walk out into wholeness. I knew God did not want me to die prematurely, and He didn’t want me to be sick forever either. He wanted me to live in wholeness of life as a mom, a wife, and a daughter – His daughter. My family didn’t have to be perfect, and neither did I.
A startling realization
I came to realize that none of the people that God used in the Bible were perfect. They all had major sin issues and struggles. I used to think I had to be perfect, I had to have it all figured out, and I had to walk in a certain way. But it was like I was only reading half the Bible. The Bible shows God’s love, grace, and mercy to work with us, carry us, heal us, and deliver us out of our sin and disease. It’s His work, not mine!
I was completely healed of Hodgkin’s Lymphoma!
After applying what I learned at For My Life and walking it out for a season, I was proclaimed totally healed by the medical community. It was not even remission; I was completely cured of Hodgkin’s Lymphoma!
Coming out of For My Life, God directed me to shut off everything that I was feeding on that wasn’t God’s plan for me. I even shut down my TV, and quit making random internet searches that were feeding fear and doubt. I realized that I needed to feed on His truth; His Word is healing, it’s life. I knew that as I apply it and walk it out, it has to work or else His Word isn’t true.
I’m so amazed and grateful that I get to have a fresh start. I’ve learned how to defeat the works of the enemy in my life so that I’m not a victim to him anymore. God’s never left me or forsaken me; He always has the answers if I’m willing to hear.
The Walk Out Workshop
I have since attended Be in Health’s Walk Out® Workshop. Through that, I’ve seen how many “If –Thens” there are in Scripture. It’s IF I will obey, THEN I will have the victory, THEN He will walk me through it, but nothing promises quick, or easy. The Word promises that He will be faithful, and His faithfulness endures; it never fails. After attending the Walk Out Workshop, even post-cancer, it has taught me how to apply what I learned at For My Life to a whole other level
Real life application
Now, in my regular life, with real-life decisions and struggles, I can use the same skills that I used to overcome cancer. That is, searching for what He says about a matter from His Word, and applying it. It works because He’s true; as true as gravity, as true as the sun shining. He never fails!
When I think God has failed, because the enemy wants me to believe that – he wants me to think that it’s not going to work this time, that’s when I get to apply His truth again. I know that I can trust Him. I know if He said it, then He meant it, and it’s true, so I can apply it to this too. I’m not going to listen to those voices that are against who my Heavenly Father is; He’s the best Daddy ever!
To those who are wondering if For My Life is right for you…
What I would say to a person who is wondering if they should come to For My Life is, “If you’re walking across a dry desert and somebody comes to you and offers you a drink of water, would you say, ‘No’?” That’s what this retreat is like.
I have been to the For My Life Retreat more than once. From my experience I know that it will provide answers to whatever you are dealing with; not just to get some information, but to really get to the root of the issue and of why it’s happening so that you can overcome it. It will transform not only your perspective of yourself but also how you view everyone and everything else in your life. It’s a new beginning.
“I want to encourage you…”
If you’re sick, I want to encourage you, whatever report that comes, whether from a doctor, from the internet, from a family member, whatever it is, it’s not the report of the Lord. It’s His report that you can stand on. But you need to know who He is, and what His plans are for you. You may have heard a lot of things that aren’t true, or that you can’t fully trust.
You don’t have to base your decisions that you’re making about this issue on others saying that you only have so long to live, or it’s incurable, or you’re just going to have to adjust and get used to it. There is more! You have choices, but it’s up to you to make those choices; no one else can make them for you.
It’s your choice
God will come right alongside you if you make the choice to believe Him and trust Him, and He will open doors. He will bring the resources that you need. He will change things if you will follow His leading and act on it. Take that step forward in faith.
You can say right now, “I choose to take the next step. I choose to investigate this and follow the Lord’s leading.”
What to expect
If you go to Georgia and sit through the For My Life classes, you may not agree with everything that they say, but you will get a new revelation and understanding of who you are, and who you were created to be. And then you will be given the resources that you need from the Word of God to be able to walk in it and to walk out of your disease or whatever the issue may be.
It doesn’t matter if you are fifteen or ninety-nine, you still have a life ahead of you. And God will work with you where you are. Don’t give up.
